X Layer Public Mainnet Launches with Ecosystem of 200 dApps

·

Our mission is to enable millions of people to access and exit on-chain applications more cheaply and quickly through X Layer, a ZK-powered, Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) compatible Layer 2 network.

Today marks the official launch of our Layer 2 public mainnet, X Layer, which has already built an ecosystem with over 200 decentralized applications (dApps). Integrated with the OKX exchange (CEX) and OKX Web3 Wallet, users can seamlessly bridge assets from both platforms to X Layer and interact with the dApps deployed on this network.

The name X Layer combines the symbol "X," representing openness and interoperability from OKX, with the term "Layer," referring to the suite of protocols designed to enhance blockchain scalability. X Layer is a general-purpose network, ensuring innovation is not limited to a single use case. We envision on-chain developers using X Layer and its infrastructure to create new "layers" for a wide range of applications.

During the testnet phase, over 200 dApps joined X Layer, while thousands of developers actively built protocols on the network. Our goal remains to empower millions with affordable and efficient access to on-chain applications through this ZK-driven, EVM-compatible Layer 2 solution.

The current ecosystem of 200+ dApps on X Layer includes approximately 40 DeFi applications, 20 infrastructure tools, 12 bridge applications, 5 growth tools, 16 wallets, 10 NFT and gaming apps, 10 SocialFi platforms, and several developer tool dApps.

Some of the most popular Web3 dApps are building on X Layer, such as DeFi platforms like Curve, Renzo, and QuickSwap, and infrastructure services including LayerZero, Wormhole, and EigenLayer (DA).

With the public mainnet now live, our focus is on attracting more developers and users. We aim to incentivize and foster ZK-based L2 innovation by providing a seamless and efficient on-chain experience.

Long-Term Vision for X Layer

As a technology company since 2014, we have grown into one of the world's largest crypto ecosystems. We believe in the transformative power of blockchain and have dedicated resources to create robust Web3 products. With that same commitment, we are concentrating on three core areas for X Layer:

User-Friendly On-Chain dApps

Empowering Builders and Creators

Affordable and Faster On-Chain Experience

Over the past few years, we launched the first self-custody wallet and introduced services like search, swap, and cross-chain capabilities across hundreds of networks. We also integrated innovations such as Ordinals and creator tools to support diverse on-chain use cases. Late last year, we announced plans to develop an Ethereum L2, believing it would be the next foundational block improving how users interact with on-chain applications.

We conceptualize our Web3 ecosystem through foundational blocks, using analogies like cars, destinations, services, and highways to describe its components. X Layer aims to unlock and accelerate global adoption of the Web3 economy, ensuring millions worldwide gain more freedom and opportunity. We are excited about the future and welcome everyone to join us in making X Layer's vision a reality.

Let’s build the future of Web3 together.
